Oceanside High School Academic Integrity Policy
At Oceanside High School, maintaining academic integrity is fundamental to fostering a community of learning, respect, and honesty. Academic integrity ensures fairness and trust among students, faculty, and staff. As members of this community, all students are expected to uphold the highest standards of honesty and ethical behavior in all academic endeavors. 3. Falsification and Fabrication:
- Providing false information or fabricating data, sources, citations, or any academic material is prohibited.
- Submitting work that is altered, falsified, or misrepresented in any way is considered a violation of academic integrity.
4. Ethical Conduct:
- Respect for academic property and resources, including textbooks, technology, and classroom materials, is essential. Any misuse or damage to academic property is unacceptable.
- Respecting the privacy and intellectual property rights of others, including classmates and instructors, is mandatory.
Consequences of Academic Integrity Violations: Violations of the Academic Integrity Policy may result in consequences, including but not limited to:
- Lowered grades or a failing grade on the assignment or assessment
- Parental notification
- Loss of privileges
- Academic probation or suspension
Reporting Violations: Students, teachers, and staff are encouraged to report suspected violations of academic integrity to the appropriate school authorities. Reports can be made anonymously, and confidentiality will be maintained during the investigation process.
