Oceanside High School Student Center
Welcome, Oceanside High School Pirates, to your Student Center!
The Student Services Center includes the offices of the Assistant Principals, Counselors, Psychologist, Registrar, Attendance Clerk and Health Clerk. The office is open daily from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
School Counselors
Counselors oversee the academic planning and programming of students, assist students in planning for college, and oversee programs related to this process. Counselors are assigned students by a split of the alphabet with the following surnames:
Ms. Karla Muratalla: Surnames A-C
Mr. Juan Simental: Surnames D-He
Ms. Gabriela Martin: Surnames Hi-Me
Ms. Emily Malyszko (Fall Semester): Surnames Mi-R
Ms. Kelly Brinkerhoff (Spring Semester): Surnames Mi-R
Mr. Oscar Torrico: Surnames S-Z

College & Career Specialist
Ms. Marissa Foreman in the College and Career Center (V-126) is available to offer assistance and information regarding your post-secondary school options and planning. Reach Ms. Foreman at marissa.foreman@oside.us.
Wellness Together Counselors
Onsite counselors provide mental health services for OHS students.
Social Workers
Onsite counselors provide student support services in the Wellness Center. To make an appointment, refer a student or contact the counselor, please visit the Wellness Center webpage, at: .
Psychologist
Onsite support services within the Special Education department for students and case managers.
Attendance Clerk
The Attendance Clerk assists students and parents with clearing absences, securing tardy passes, off-ground passes for appointments. You may contact the attendance clerk at the 24 Hour Attendance Hotline: (760) 901-8202 or email Attendance: attendance.ohs@oside.us
Health Clerk
The Health Clerk is available for assistance with the maintenance of immunization records, minor medical emergencies, students who have become ill and need to go home, and issuing PE medical excuses. Every attempt is made to contact parents or the Emergency Contact person listed on the Emergency Card and Registration form. Our ability to contact a responsible adult directly depends on the accuracy of the provided phone numbers. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PHONE NUMBERS IF A CHANGE OCCURS. The Health Clerk is not a nurse and is, therefore, prohibited by law from giving out any type of medication to students without written approval from the student’s doctor.
Registrar
The Guidance Clerk (V-127) assists parents and students with information regarding transcripts, transcript interpretation, academic credits, and course descriptions.
Assistant Principals
The three Assistant Principals oversee discipline and attendance. Each AP has assigned students by a split of the alphabet with the following surnames:
Ms. Lulu Fernandez: Surnames A-H
Ms. Jenny Post: Surnames I-O
Dr. Freddie Chavarria: Surnames P-Z
