Helping our teachers

Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Guardians:

Many of you have contacted me to let me know that you would be willing to volunteer. If you can volunteer please contact me so I can get you in contact with the teacher whom you would like to help. Remember that as long as a teacher is present and is there to sponsor you, you do NOT need to get fingerprinted or have a background check. (this is only needed if you are going to be the only adult present with the students)

Contact : Kecia Niederhauser ohsptso@yahoo.com

Teachers who need our help:

  • Brandi Mohun (English) : needs help during her 5th period Structured Learning class to work one-on-one with students.
  • Frank Zuidema (Chemistry) : needs help by having someone input data and score papers. Also help out with those who "re-take" tests.
  • Kelley Brinkeroff (English) : needs a volunteer for her 6th period reading support class. Would like a parent to come from 1:15 pm -2:20 pm Tuesday through Friday. It would be to monitor students on computers, as well as assist with independent reading groups. (only takes about 15 minutes for Kelley to train you)
  • Teresa Collis (APP-All Pirates Pass) : There are two time slots in which we could really use parents help. In the morning from 7 am - 9 am, as well as from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Currently there are 741 students enrolled in this program and she is running it completely by herself. If you can come once a week or all 5 days a week, your time will be greatly appreciated!
  • Paul Ruez (Digital Studio) : could use parents during 4th, 5th and 6th period to help assist students with hands on projects
  • Susie Jones (ASL) : would love for parents to help during any period
  • Armand Amoranto (Physics, AP Chemistry) : would like some help with organizing materials and equipment
  • Jessica Poumele (VP) : help out with students testing
