SOME WORDS FROM COACH Z…
It is difficult to say goodbye to the senior class each year. That is the case with this, the class of 2011! They have worked very hard to earn their legacy among the elite teams in the history of the Pirate Soccer program. The coaching staff and I have watched this group improve throughout the season and through hard work, become a family-first unit that in my opinion, eclipsed expectations.
With regard to the coaching staff, I would like to thank Freshman Coach Luis Casillas, JV Coach Armando Morales, Graduate Coach Jamel Wallace, Goalkeepers coach Angel Alcantar and Varsity Assistant Coach Miguel Barragan for their efforts this season. There is no doubt in my mind we would not have been as successful without their efforts and contributions. I am proud that Coaches Morales (2001), Wallace (2005) and Barragan (2002) all played for and graduated from Oceanside High School, as did I in 1986 - Once a Pirate, always a pirate!
So seniors, congratulations on a fine soccer career, and welcome as you join coaches Barragan, Wallace, Morales and, I in the OHS Soccer Alumni Club. You will always be a part of our family!
I will continue to pray for each and every one of you as you go out into the world and make your dreams come true. May god’s grace be with you!
Coach Z
